July 2, 2014
Surrey, BC – Surrey’s 2014 Canada Day celebration, presented by Coast Capital Savings, welcomed a record-breaking 120,000 attendees at Bill Reid Millennium Amphitheatre in Cloverdale on Tuesday.
“It was wonderful to see so many families and children join in our Surrey Canada Day celebrations yesterday,” said Mayor Dianne Watts. “I would like to say a special thank you to the staff, volunteers, and the many generous sponsors from our business community, including presenting sponsor Coast Capital Savings, who help to make this event such a success year after year."
Canadian rock icon, Matthew Good, and Vancouver rising stars, Daniel Wesley and Kyprios provided concert entertainment. Other festival highlights included a half a million square feet of site area, over 100 exhibitors and a fireworks grand finale.
“This year’s Canada Day festivities in Surrey had something for everyone,” said Councillor Linda Hepner, Chair of the Parks, Recreation and Sport Tourism Committee. “From children’s activities, and top notch headline entertainment to the spectacular fireworks, the entire event was a great success.”
