Surrey, BC - Coast Capital Savings presents BC's largest multicultural celebration, Surrey Fusion Festival, at Holland Park on July 19 & 20, 2014.

The 2014 Fusion Festival line-up includes Canadian musician, environmental and human rights activist, and Hall of Fame inductee, Bruce Cockburn. Also appearing are JUNO nominees Hey Ocean!, The Boom Booms, and indie folk darling Aidan Knight. Concerts and entertainment are free to the public and gates open at 11 am.

“With over 100,000 attendees last year, Fusion Festival has proven to be an enormously popular festival within our community,” said City of Surrey Mayor Dianne Watts. “Dozens of community partners convene and work together to offer what truly is an exceptional event every year.”

The 2013 Surrey Fusion Festival was declared ‘Best Festival in the World’ at the International GALA Awards held in Nashville, following a nomination process involving top events from over 30 countries.

“Surrey’s Fusion Festival is always such a fun weekend of music, food and culture in such a vibrant atmosphere,” said Councillor Linda Hepner, Chair of the Parks, Recreation & Sports Tourism Committee. “Its reputation brings visitors not only from Surrey, but from throughout the region.”

“Fusion Festival brings together more than 35 international pavilions and exhibitors representing countries from all over the world,” said Councillor Mary Martin, Chair of Surrey's Diversity and Inclusivity Committee. “It’s a fitting celebration of the unique cultural diversity we have in Surrey.”

A special Salsa Sunday evening performance will include Fusion favourites, Orquestra Tropicana and Ache Brasil. Featured performers this year are Alpha Yaya Diallo, EnKarma, Bocephus King, T-Nile, Wil, Australia’s Ash Grunwald and Pete Werner.

Sunday morning will feature a new children's matinee with puppets, stories, singers and the BC Junior Talent Search winners.
