Grey Cup Comes to Surrey Tree Lighting Festival

December 01, 2011

Surrey, B.C. – The CFL’s Grey Cup will be making an appearance at the Surrey Tree Lighting Festival this Saturday.

BC Lions fans are invited to celebrate and view the trophy, starting at 6:00pm with a main stage appearance, followed by a parade through the festival grounds, and ending with an opportunity to take a photo with the cup.

“Surrey is extremely proud of the BC Lions for winning the Grey Cup, and we couldn’t be more happy for their success this season,” said Mayor Dianne Watts. “The Lions are very involved in our community and this is a great opportunity for the players to celebrate with some of their most loyal fans.”

Surrey has been home to the BC Lions’ offices and practice facility for the past 28 years.

The Surrey Tree Lighting Festival presented by Coast Capital Savings takes place on Saturday, December 3rd, 2011, on the plaza of Central City Shopping Centre (102nd Avenue, between City Parkway and University Drive). This free event is open to the public starting at 2:00pm and ends at 9:30pm with a headline concert featuring Fefe Dobson and These Kids Wear Crowns.
