Request for Quotations

The City invites Quotations from experienced and qualified Contractors for the provision of everything required including all skilled labour, tools, materials, equipment for the supply and delivery of Playground Equipment.

The City of Surrey’s Parks Division has developed a conceptual design for a new playground in Francis Park, in the Community of Fleetwood. The park is located between 160th Street and 159th Street on 83rd Avenue.

The area for the proposed playground is roughly 400 square meters. The approximate dimensions for the proposed playground are 32 metres by 9 - 18 metres.

The proposed playground area will be a kidney shape. The playground will be divided into three zones: 1) tot/preschool, 2) youth (5-12), and 3) multigenerational/all ages/games. The overall primary focus of the equipment should be on the tot/preschool age. All youth elements should offer play opportunities for tots and preschool aged children by having play opportunities/elements that are low/close to the ground, and by offering multiple ways to play (multifunctional) rather than offering one single type of play (monofunctional). The tot/preschool and youth zones will have fibre mulch with concrete curb edging, and possibly a small patch of pour-in-place rubber surfacing. The multigenerational/all ages games zone will be on an asphalt surface, connected to the exterior playground pathway, which will serve as an informal tot bike track.

Deliverables:

  1. Supply and delivery of the Goods to the City.
  2. Layout Plan: in pdf and AutoCAD drawing formats; the layout plan should include the blocks/drawings of each proposed play equipment piece. The Contractor will be required to submit/assist with x/y coordinates for post installation locations.
  3. Written Description of how the play equipment meets the criteria, along with an image of each proposed piece of equipment.
