Request for Expressions of Interest

The City of Surrey invites Request for Expressions of Interest and Statements of Qualification for Naming Rights Sponsorship for the Museum of Surrey – Kids Explore Zone (KEZ) from qualified organizations under the following scope:

PROJECT BACKGROUND / PURPOSE

Museum of Surrey (MOS) is currently undergoing an addition that will see 12,000 sf of community space that includes galleries and program spaces. Two heritage buildings to be used for programming, the 1892 Anniedale School and 1881 Town Hall,  will be relocated to the Museum grounds to join the 1912 Hall (City of Surrey Archives), 1871 Anderson Cabin. The expansion will also see an addition of functional spaces such as offices, an exhibit fabrication shop, and artifact storage. Attendance is expected to increase to 100,000 visitors a year by 2020 and increase substantially in the years beyond. Research shows that visitors stay in the Kids Explore Zone on average 30 to 90 minutes in addition to time spent in other areas of the Museum. During special events the visitor experience is longer and richer with activities, performances and workshops.

While undergoing this transformation and expansion, the City has updated the vision, mission, branding and service delivery model for the Museum and will be positioning the operations as noted below when unveiling and opening the new Museum in 2018. The City is seeking a compatible naming rights partner to share in the excitement of this brand launch and reopening.
