Request for Expression of Interest
The City of Surrey invites Expressions of Interest from professional artists or artist teams for a sculpture for a new roundabout at 156th Street and 108th Avenue in Fraser Heights, Surrey.
THEME:
Artists answering this call are invited to respond with a concept informed by information provided in the call including the background on the location’s history and current context and Fraser Heights residents’ values and perceptions. Some suggested themes for the Artwork are:
- Transportation Past and Present;
- Nature – Creek Headwaters, Salmon, Forests, and Views;
- A Community Connected yet Separated;
- Roundabout - An Island in a Circle of Connections.
BUDGET:
The project budget is $90,000 inclusive of all costs including artist fees, design, materials, insurance, all engineering expenses, fabrication, delivery, installation, travel and taxes.
